Martin Jeffery

Chair and Treasurer

Martin originally qualified as a Mechanical Engineer in 1965 at what is now the University of Portsmouth. He then trained as a computer programmer at Rolls-Royce Aero Engines working on the design and development of the RB211 (now Trent) family of engines powering the very largest aircrafts. Career progression within the IT sector meant that he retired from full time employment in 2002 having been a senior executive in a large software house for many years.

For nearly 30 years he was a volunteer in the Royal Naval Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. Shortly after Enrych Berkshire was formed, he became a Trustee with the specific role of Treasurer and IT manager. Martin took over the role of Chair of Enrych Berkshire in March 2020. He is a volunteer licensed Boatmaster on the Kennet and Avon Canal, where he skippers the trip boat Rose of Hungerford, and also crews for RiverTime, a trip boat for disabled and disadvantaged people on the River Thames. He is the Treasurer and Trustee of the Woodcote Charitable Association, raising funds for local organisations through the annual Woodcote Rally, a veteran transport event.

Martin is married to fellow trustee Sandy Jeffery, and they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
